Janet Natoli and Nicole Kenny met in 1999 during the adoptions of their oldest sons. Both boys were adopted from Bucharest Romania. In 2002, Nicole began working in international adoptions and a few months later, Janet followed suit. Over the next 4 1/2 years, they worked together to bring over 100 children home from Guatemala, Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine. In 2006, both women adopted again, this time from Bulgaria. Nicole adopted another son, and Janet adopted a daughter. This was a life changing experience, as they both saw first hand what life is like in an orphanage. The children left behind - those not lucky enough to be adopted - struggled for basic survival needs. They were children who didn't walk... Children who laid in cribs day after day... Children who didn't laugh, didn't touch, didn't love... And they saw first hand the orphanages and workers who struggled to give so much with what little they had. You cannot walk away from this and not be changed. And so Love's Hope International was born. |
